Day Center for Homeless

The PG Plaza Day Center is open from 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays,  welcoming guests inside for a hot meal, shower and laundry services, Wi-Fi connection and social services support. Social distancing encouraged. (Location: 6800 Adelphi Rd, Hyattsville – hosted by University Christian Church.)

Tuesday, November 12, 2024: CUCE Planning Meeting, 10:00 am. LOCATION: University Christian Church, 6800 Adelphi Rd. Hyattsville). Purpose: Day Center review and planning. All are welcome.

FUNDRAISER: Our next fundraiser at Franklin’s in Hyattsville is on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. You can eat at Franklin’s, order carry-out or delivery for lunch or dinner, order a gift certificate or shop at the general store. Franklin’s will donate 20 percent of your before-tax total — but you must show your receipt to the host to participate.

ABOUT US:

The PG PLAZA DAY CENTER  is a day time shelter for homeless, near homeless and those in economic need.  The Day Center offers a place to be out of the cold (or heat), food, showers, laundry services, and social services and spiritual support.  The center is a welcoming, compassionate, and safe environment.

Open every Tuesday and Thursday, 12:30 – 4:30 PM .  Location: University Christian Church, 6800 Adelphi Rd in Hyattsville.

Services Provided:  Take-out food provided between 1 pm and 4 pm each Tuesday and Thursday; limited laundry and shower facilities, toiletries, socks, t-shirts, underwear, counseling, social services support, legal services, and spiritual support.

The Day Center, in operations since October 2016, is sponsored by Congregations United for Compassion and Empowerment (CUCE) and hosted/located at the University Christian Church, 6800 Adelphi Rd in Hyattsville.
